Saman was born in Tehran in 1986 and has been fascinated with film since the age of 13. As soon as he was able to, aged 18, he decided to focus his attention on film making while at the Art Center College of Design.
Saman cut his teeth first on directing a number of short films, his first short 'Drug of Choice' won a 'Viewer's Choice Award' at Hollywood's 2006 Small Screen Film Festival. His second and third shorts, 'Routine' and 'This Side Up' also garnered awards. In 2009, Saman moved into music video. He directed the fast cutting, provocative promo 'Luv Deluxe' for Cinamon Chasers which won best music video at SXSW in 2010. The same year saw him shortlisted at the prestigious Saatchi & Saatchi New Director's Showcase and his Canon spot 'Trigger Happy' won at the CFPE/Shots Young Director Awards. Since then Saman has directed an epic music video trilogy 'Midnight Club' for Russ Chimes. His cracking promo Chk Chk Chk and his darkly funny stop motion/live action piece, B.Fleischmann Playtime were both nominated at last year's UK MVA's. Most recently Saman has completed controversial and darkly funny promos for Deus and the Penelopes.
